The A56 is an urban highway that is not part of the North-South corridor of the national highway network, with a low percentage of heavy vehicle traffic, accounting for just 1.7%.
Due to high urbanization, which makes it impossible to expand service areas, and the low volume of heavy traffic, only two out of the seven service areas along the highway offer short-term parking spaces for trucks.
In the Antica Campana Est and Doganella service areas, there are 4 HPC (High Power Charging) electric columns of 300kW and 1 column of 64kW installed. The charging stations are built and managed by the Free To X group company, they are high power and can be used with RFID card and/or app from various Mobility Service Providers.
